Our Story & Vision

Our story. Our next chapter.

The Limerick FC name will return to senior League of Ireland football in 2027, as Treaty United adopts the historic identity. This next chapter brings together the heritage of Limerick FC and the foundations built by Treaty United, with a shared ambition to create a strong, sustainable club for Limerick and the Mid-West.

We will be launching the new Club crest and identity later this year.

Our history. Our people. Our future.

Our story

Limerick football A shared history.
A future together.

A proud name. A shared next chapter.

For generations, Limerick FC has meant much more than football. It has meant belonging, community and pride in the place we call home. Treaty United has carried senior football forward, bringing players, supporters, volunteers and partners together. That work is central to the future we are building.

Building on the agreement announced in June 2026 and the joint statement in October, Treaty United will take to the pitch as Limerick FC from the 2027 season, carrying that shared history and ambition forward.

Recognising the dedication

For everyone who kept the legacy alive.

We also recognise the dedication of Carew & Limerick FC and everyone who helped keep the Limerick FC legacy alive. Their commitment protected a connection that matters deeply to people across our football community.
